Under a rock

Its been a very busy 2 months.

Coming home after a full day of work with the occational lost weeknight and weekend, can unmotivate you from drawing/animating. So your basically left with whatever projects your currently working on, to show off... except there are confidentiality agreements you also have to abide by. Boo!

So, I'll start out this post by showing off what I can "show off".

Last year, about this time, I was approached by Jason Pattan to do some animation for his (and his brother's) short film. I wanted to hold off showing off my contribution, until his film was finished and being entered in film festivals. The time has come...

Ok, now on to more recent work. In Feb, I was working on the pilot "Chicky Poo and Fluff, Barnyard Detectives". The style if very sweet and colorful. It was done mostly in After Effects (puppeted animation) with some tradtional plug in animation throw in, for a look that I can desrcibe as "cutesy plush animated storybook toys". We managed to also put together an interstitial for it, so please keep an eye out for it on Nick Jr. I'll be sure to add a link to it whenever Nickelodeon decides to promote it

And last (but certainly not least) my most recent gig at Transistor Studios. We did some promotional ads for ESPN's ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2007 in anime style. Now, I'm not much of a manga artist but I feel that we all did a great job, and I'm pretty excitied to see these air. I can't show any of that work yet either, but I can provide airdates:

3/22/07 Thurs.@ 7:30pm-11:00pm
3/23/07 Fri.@ 7:30pm-11:00pm
3/24/07 Sat.@ 6:00pm-9:00pm
3/25/07 Sun.@ 5:00pm-7:00pm
4/02/07 Mon.@ 9:00pm-11:30pm

I imagine they will be playing through-out the day. I'll be sure to post pictures and look for links once these air. Now I have some time off (and just recently got my hands on a 21 inch cintiq) so I'll try to get my drawing muscle in shape and post my own stuff more often until my next gig. See you soon....

Will "Chickie Poo and Fluff" become full cartoons, or will they remain as shorts? My daughter loves them! :)

I came across your blog when googling "Chickie Poo and the ...."
My son, just turning 3, went bananas over the 45 second clip that was just on Noggin. I literally had to rewind on the dvr about 10 times before I just had to let him fuss.

Is this going to be a show on Noggin? Please tell me it's going to be a show.

Hi, I was just wondering if I could buy a copy of your Chikie Poo and Fluff pilot?

Hi, would you sell a copy of your Chikie Poo and Fluff pilot?

How can we get that to be a full show??? My daughter loves chickie poo but it's too short and she gets so upset.

My 10 month old daughter lights up whenever she sees Chickie Poo on the television. She sees it and grins the biggest smile and her dimples glow.

Will we see more stuff soon? I would love to be able to buy videos for her to watch! And merchandise as well.

Noggin.com used to display all three mini-episodes of 'Chickie Poo and Fluff, Barnyard Detectives'.

Since the switch to NickJr.com, they no longer have them posted (or at least I can't seem to find them).

I clicked the link 'Contact Us' at the bottom of the page for http://www.nickjr.com and sent them a request for help on how to find them again. Perhaps if more people submit the requests we can get more support.

Oh my, many apologies to you all who've waited so long for any kind of response.

Bob: I believe Chicky-Poo wasn't picked up for a show. It was a shame for all of us.

German, CC & Amanda : I'll be sure to pass along your kind words to the creators of the show. No, sorry, just a short.

Anonymous: I wish I had good news, but as far as I know, there are no plans.

William: My apologies but I do not hold the rights and I cannot sell you what doesn't belong to me. I hope you've been able to digitally record it or see it on youtube.

Anonymous: I don't have any idea what would be the best way to push to have this short made into a show. Sorry :(

Dan: Thanks for the heads up. There seem to be a few clips up on youtube but nothing complete.

Sorry that I couldn't provide more information sooner, I've still have much to learn when it comes to the blog tools and thank you all for any support. Your comments are all very much appreciated.
